The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is in the midst of preparing the state’s 2022 “Climate Scoping Plan.” There are many subgroups: working lands, fossil fuels etc. I’ve been involved in several and am working with CA for Pesticide Reform to ensure that pesticides are included. Many give off GHGs/VOCs, they are air born and drift, and the prevent healthy soils with sequester carbon. (many are also carcinogens).
Currently, there is a comment period to design a “notice of intent” to spray pesticides so farm workers can protect themselves and their families. There is also a comment period on neonic treated seeds (through Feb 15).
